When I came up with the idea of putting together a benefit album, Warner Publishing and Dwight Yoakam offered to donate the royalties to any songs we wanted to use. We then left it up to the performing artists to pick what songs they wanted to use. Of course, first we had to find the artists - artists, that is, who believe in what we are trying to do and want to help."
